How to set the domain on a Wireless Network in Windows 7?

-

Question by Traffik T: How to set the domain on a Wireless Network in Windows 7?
I just installed Windows 7 on my laptop and at my local college one is required to provide a username, password, and domain to connect to the wireless network. However, on 7, the prompt that pops up only allows me to enter a username/password, and without entering the domain, I cannot connect. Is there any way that I can enable the domain entry field or manually enter the domain?

You can actually enter the NETBIOS name of the domain before your username.

On my corporate domain, I’ve setup a few accounts for wireless and VPN that do not have that option.

DOMAIN\username

NEVER use windows based servers on public networks.

Linux/Unix packet handling and DNS systems are far better…

I have never had a Linux server compromised (VPN wrapper helps.)

How do I set up a windows 7 Virtual box in linux?

Question by : How do I set up a windows 7 Virtual box in linux?
I keep geting this error message:The virtual machine execution may run into an error condition as described below. We suggest that you take an appropriate action to avert the error.

The host I/O cache for at least one controller is disabled and the medium ‘/home/****/.VirtualBox/HardDisks/Win7.vdi’ for this VM is located on an ext4 partition. There is a known Linux kernel bug which can lead to the corruption of the virtual disk image under these conditions.

Either enable the host I/O cache permanently in the VM settings or put the disk image and the snapshot folder onto a different file system.

“Either enable the host I/O cache permanently in the VM settings or put the disk image and the snapshot folder onto a different file system.”

I’m not sure what filesystems do work, you can check the VM forums. The I/o option is found under settings>storage.

That message isn’t and error. It’s a warning about a potential future error.

To get it going you need to attach the install DVD to the V-machine, again Settings>storage, and select or add a optical drive, and thing set it to the Win7 disk in your optical drive. Then the last thing to check is settings>system and enable booting from the CD, and place it first in the boot order. Click Okay, then start your virtual machine. It should boot up into a windows installation environment. Your left alt or crtl (i forgot wich) will unbind our mouse from the virtualized OS window. (After installation make sure to unmount the installation cd)

There is no way to just stop it from downloading with out blocking the complete internet connection when using ICS. If you were using a router or server you could block ports to stop the emule use..
