The E2160 Processor is not compatible with OS X. You would need at least an Intel Core 2 Duo (E8000 series)

As a side note, 10.5.4 is dated at this point. 10.5.5 is the most recent release.

Question by samurai: do multiple sites hosted a machine with a single IP share a TCP port 80?
If a single machine with a single IP address is hosting multiple sites with different server programs, for instance, IIS, apache, tomcat, do these sites share the TCP port 80?

How to network to O/S in a virtual machine environment?

-

Question by Old man on the back porch: How to network to O/S in a virtual machine environment?
I am using microsoft virtual PC. I have one windows server 2003 on one virtual machine and windows XP professional on the other. I would like to network the two machines together so i can practice using server 2003 as a domain controller.

I am statically assigning IP addresses in the 192.168.x.x range under tcp/ip properties.
In microsoft virtual machine i have assigned networking parameters as “local” for both machines (meaning the two machines do not use host machine for networking capabilites but only the virtual machines themselves)
I try to ping each IP address and they do not communicate. If ANYBODY has any idea what i am talking about could you please help. I would be very grateful. Thanks

How did you setup the network controller on the virtual machines? If it’s a NAT connection, manually assigning addesses will only work if you have the correct gateway, which is not going to be a 192 address. From what you say, you have essentially turned off networking for the virtual machines.

Your best option is to add network cards to the machine for each VM, that way you can directly connect them to the network without having to bridge connections or deal with a NAT system.

You may also want to consider using Server 2008 instead, since it has a fairly different interface than 2003, and will soon be the standard.

Virtual machine wireless?

-

Question by : Virtual machine wireless?
Recently I installed Ubuntu on to my box as the only OS.
I switched from windows.
Then I installed VMware Player, so I could still run games and programs that were not compatible.
Everything works, but when I go to connect to my wireless on the virtual machine it tells me that it can connect to my wireless card, but not at the same time as the host computer.
How do I connect it to the player, or disconnect my wireless card from Ubuntu?
Terminal command? thanks in advance ^_^

Answer by Andrew S
You really need to consult your VMware documentation. You’ll generally need to configure an ethernet bridge – this will appear to each machine as if it was a wired ethernet connection (rather than wireless). The guest OS uses that to send packets to the parent OS which then sends it on to where it needs to go (via the wireless card) – in general you _can’t_ have two different operating systems using the same physical device simultaneously.

One employee has been downloading with emule and want to restrict his access or limit his bandwith capacity or deny emule from downloading.

There is no way to just stop it from downloading with out blocking the complete internet connection when using ICS. If you were using a router or server you could block ports to stop the emule use..
