Question by upperEchelon: How can I host a website from my personal computer? Even if I don’t have a static IP?
It seems if I am running winXP and IIS I should be set. What confuses me is where can I register my ip with the DNS server…Do I use the DNS server on my ISP? I realize I will have to update it everytime my ip changes but thats fine for my purposes.

Question by goodgollymissmollflanders: Why are there two hosts with same computer name but different ip and mac addresses connected to my router?
Why is this? Does it mean someone else is attached to my network? How can I stop this if this is the case?

Many thanks (and a secret hello to jonathan if you’re out there ‘helping’ again – guess who this is???)

Do you have a computer with two network connections with both of them plugged in? That might cause it to issue a different IP to each interface, but have the same computer name.
