One employee has been downloading with emule and want to restrict his access or limit his bandwith capacity or deny emule from downloading.

There is no way to just stop it from downloading with out blocking the complete internet connection when using ICS. If you were using a router or server you could block ports to stop the emule use..

Can I have a domain (like www.domain.com) point to a folder on my web server, like (www.server.com/domain)?

Question by D: Can I have a domain (like www.domain.com) point to a folder on my web server, like (www.server.com/domain)?
I’d like to run another website on my web server. I want to use at least two unique domains. Basically, if someone enters the new domain, say domain.com, it’s really accessing a folder on my server (say server.com/domain/, but the url looks like the user is on the domain.com website. I don’t have web hosting software that manages multiple accounts like a professional reseller web host. Is there something I setup with the domain name company, and use like a “virtual host” or something like that?

A static ip address is one that is (more or less) permanently assigned – i.e. it doesn’t change every time you connect to the network, every few days, or anything like that.

An external IP address probably means an IP address on the Internet (as opposed to one on your local network).

How to speed up file sharing?

-

Question by Optimist: How to speed up file sharing?
I’m running Virtualbox version 2.0.6 with a Windows Xp guest OS on my linux host. I set up a folder on my host which my Xp guest can access through “My Network Places”. There is an annoying delay ( ~15s) when I click to open my shared folder on my guest. Is there any way to speed up virtual networking on my machine? Could it be my host’s firewall?

Running a GoDaddy website off of my home network?

-

Question by logank9: Running a GoDaddy website off of my home network?
I have Fios, and my internet is pretty fast. Lately I’ve been experimenting a bit with C++, and I’d like to display stuff on my web page with it, like saving data on it. To do this I think I either need virtual hosting ( like $ 50/mo. and I don’t want to buy that, along with my domain ) or I can (possibly) host it off my computer.

SO, I have 2 questions:

1. Would my Verizon Fios internet connection be enough to host a small website?

2. CAN I host a website off my computer in GoDaddy?

I have an extra computer which I haven’t used in a year or so, I’m thinking I could use that as a server.

Thanks in advance, Logan
